SE'ing an ssd on Amazon via swapping? 12-11-2022, 08:27 PM

So I'm a noob and honestly not too sure if I can handle a DNA so I had a question for something a little easier. I felt like I read about this method a while back but I couldn't find it, which is why I'm here now. I want to SE a more expensive 4tb ssd from Amazon and was wondering if I could just buy a 500gb model of the same brand (Crucial P3 plus) from bestbuy (initially thought amazon from the same account but I'm pretty sure that might raise flags?), then just swap the drives and return the "4tb ssd" back to Amazon.
Would this work? Are there any other caveats/things I'd need to do? I can't really think of anything else apart from maybe swapping the stickers on the ssd's so that it looks like I returned the 4tb ssd. I can't imagine they actually install the ssd to a test bench to check the storage.
Thoughts?
