Clothes SE #1
Hello,

I have orderes some clothes from https://www.carhartt-wip.com and would like to SE them. However, the only method I can think of is DNA. I have ordered four pieces and the carrier is DHL. I've DNAd something over DHL Express around Christmas but I'm pretty sure, they didn't investigate the matter. Value of all the items is close to $ 400. Does anybody have any other SE ideas? Also, do you have any experience with them?

Thanks

If you're planning to SE the lot, the DNA Is the only option.

If It's only one or two Items, please provide their description and weight.

Thank you for your answer, you're the best. I wouldn't mind only SEing one or two items, however I don't believe it's possible in this case. While I don't know the exact weights, only one would already be way too heavy. Each item weighs at least 400 grams I'd say. I'll try to tell the courier to leave it in front of my door but I don't really think it'll work.

I don't have any experience with that particular store, but these methods usually work on most.

Thank you for your help! PEB won't work unfortunately. I don't really think the wrong item method would work either to be honest. I guess DNA is the best method if I can pull that of.

You're right, but I'd rather make it look legit even for the courier as I don't want to deal with him. And yes, I know that I don't have to talk to him and so on. Just trying to avoid it. If he doesn't want to leave it outside, I'll go ahead with a fake signature.

Alternatively, the wrong Item received method can be used.

If he doesn't leave the package unattended, obviously sign with a fake signature, but be sure It's somewhat legible/readable.

As such, when the name Is checked, It will not correspond with yours, hence you did not sign It.

Well it is a clothing shop only and there's nothing that is like cheap so I don't really think that would be the right method in my case.

If they're responsible for loss of goods during transit, box them.

More often than not when I'm DNA'ing, I leave a note at the door asking the delivery guy to leave the package there. So far it has worked for me, but I'm not sure if I would recommend it for others since delivery service probably varies a lot from region to region. I imagine they could take a picture of the note and use it as proof against you, but that's just my 0.02$.

@mothered, could we hear what you think about what I said above about putting a note at the door?

Luckily, they don't take pictures over here. Furthermore, this wouldn't be valid evidence that you have really gotten the delivery. Somebody could have taken it. I'll think about the note thing, thanks for your input.

I have received the goods today (took quite some time). I know that you're supposed to wait for 1-2 days before claiming DNA to make it seem more legit, but do y'all think it would be a mistake to give them a call this evening? I don't think they deal with situations like this very often. Also, I signed (fake but not too readable to be honest, messed up a little there) for the delivery myself.

You've (seemingly) waited all day for the delivery to no avail, so It's fine.

As long as the fake name does not represent yours In any way, you're good to go.
