Quick update: I just gave them a call and they told me I'd need to sign a document and they would investigate with the carrier. It's a company document: affirmation on oath and legally binding. Would you go ahead and sign the document @mothered? Also, if I do so it'll take two to fours weeks for the investigation to conclude. If I wait so long, I couldn't even make up an excuse and return the items, right?
I've looked through the internet a bit and found out that legally, such insurances are completely irrelevant. This is because affidavits are only legally effective if they are submitted to a competent authority.
