High Value Amazon SE #1
Hi,

After hours of reading this and other SE-related forums, I've come up with a plan to SE a high value item from amazon, 1600+ GBP.

The primary purpose of this thread is to ask for any anecdotal evidence from anyone on this forum that has successfully pulled off a high value amazon SE (lets say ,1100+ GBP) - what hurdles, if any did you encounter? What method did you use? how long did the claims process take? I'm asking these as after scouring the web for examples of successful SEs valued >£1100, I did not manage to observe anyone describing their experience, hence some doubts occupy my mind - the confidence is the only thing missing, otherwise my plan is set, and as follows;

-Order the item
-Use Mothered's email OTP bypass strategy if needed
-DNA if it succeeds
-If OTP bypass fails, sealed box or return the package normally, depending on the response to this thread.

Any and every input is highly appreciated!

Thanks,
Aert.

  • Wrong Item received method
  • Boxing method
  • Faulty Item method for tech-based products
  • Disposed of the faulty Item method (as above)
  • Leaking battery method (for obvious reasons)
  • The missing Item method (weight permitted)

You can have a look at my thread "Amazon SE second time".
I was successful with that.

The biggest hurdle for me to send the package back with the knowledge that the item is missing.

However, the Amazon employee in the warehouse sees this at the earliest and he will write you a mail at the most.
And even then, not everything is lost, you just have to convince Amazon that you have no idea how this happened.

Hi! thanks, and I read your thread; I've got a few questions! Biggrin

Was the pc you were SE'ing sold by a different company and only delivered by amazon?
How long did the whole process take from returning it to getting your money back?

The computer was shipped from Amazon warehouse. I had no contact with any other company if that's what you mean. (Sold and shipped by Amazon.)
It took about 1 month

Alright! thanks for the info! I'll try DNA if the OTP bypass works, then if not, I'll just do the sealed box as you mentioned!

I've just tried to bypass the OTP - the driver was foreign and did not manage to understand that I was "doing everything possible" to contact amazon and get a OTP delivered - he  insisted on a code, and therefore the delivery got pushed to tomorrow.

I'll hope for a different driver and maybe repeat the same process tomorrow - if it doesn't work, I may opt for the sealed box method.

How can one get a refund from a faulty item without sending the item back? Once I was able to convince that I was too far away from DHL to ship the product and got my refund that way but I was truly 150km away from DHL.

Won't they know what item you got based on weight?

One approach Is to use the disposed of the faulty Item method.

Another option Is to (obviously) box them.

Evidently, hence you match the wrong Item's weight with the original/purchased Item.
