Vim or Emacs - Inori - 06-24-2016 Without starting a gigantic flame war, which do you think is better and what perks do you think either has over the other? I'm looking to write some extensions for one of them, and I'm torn between VimScript and elisp, since both look pretty fun. RE: Vim or Emacs - insidious - 06-24-2016 Vim, once you get to know the hotkeys and how to use it, coding in Vim is a breeze and so much faster than anything else I've ever used. TBH I've never used EMACS before. IMO, tho, from what I've read about it, it's got like, way too much bloat and features for me. *Queue Emacs is an OS jokes* ![]() Though, EMACS is easier to learn than Vim RE: Vim or Emacs - Wildfire - 06-24-2016 I use Visual Studio and nano, or like, notepad++.
