So like. - Satan - 08-06-2015

Yesterday was my 22nd birthday(the 5th), and outside my family, only one person told me happy birthday.

No gifts, basically a dinner that I ended up feeling guilty about anyways cos it was more than I thought it would be, and my grandfather seemed upset that it was that much.

It basically opened up my eyes on how much I don't really have friends beyond my one friend, and that I'm really not worth spending anything on. Mind you, they have money for it, just my grandmother makes $2000+ a month, on top of his almost as much per month.

I'm not ungrateful for the dinner, it meant a lot cos tbh I was expecting like how my 21st was, where I basically sat at home at just googled shit.

It's just, I don't really feel like people think I'm worth very much anymore. Nobody beyond people who've never met me in person even talk to me, save the one friend who hasn't talked to me in a year anyways, so idk why I had any hope that I'd get something.

But it was sort of a stupid wish to have a birthday that goes well and I actually feel wanted, yanno?

Wow. I would have at least wished you a happy birthday, but I didn't know. I even spoke with you yesterday. I think you're entitled to at least a nice dinner on your birthday, so screw them.

It's alright.

I would say happy late birthday but it doesn't seem too happy.

Happy belated birthday first of all.

Second of all, you need to take some of the responsibility. Wishing for something only goes so far. You're at the point where you need to put in your own efforts. Time to prove your worth to others. Leave your comfort zone and start socializing, creating friendships. Doesn't have to be anything too crazy. I really only have 5 or 6 close friends that I truly care about and that's all you need.

I don't think for one second you're not worth much to the people you love. I haven't gotten gifts for a while and at this point a happy birthday from the people who love me is plenty enough. You're putting yourself down with those words before even trying, which in turn makes you less likely to try and changing your opinion of self-worth; you are stuck in a paradox. I really hope you search deep down and change your opinion of yourself. Think of the positive traits you possess and what you can offer to others and build on that. Start gaining some confidence, a sense of worth, and remembering friendships are a two way street.

You seem like a good person from my experience on here and I hope that you find brighter days.

Happy birthday homie. I understand how ya feel. I've never really gotten presents for my birthdays. My 16th b day I didn't even have a cake or presents. I got a card or so.

Well happy birthday mate. Do whatever the fuck you wanna do. Spend your life how you want to and don't let others put you down.

Don't worry mate. SL's here for you. Biggrin Even though some of us haven't met IRL yet. At least you can feel how a tight community we are. Happy Belated Birthday to you. Smile

EDIT: I'm not the kinda guy who likes to write cheesy stuff, but I think this is better than what I usually write on my friends FB wall. If they have birthdays. Smile
