So I was thinking.. - H4CK5 - 10-10-2011 So, me and my friends decided to make an operating system but we don't know where to start. I know it requires a lot of skill, time and effort and that's fine. I prefer to not have it based from another as much as possible.. I've been reading recently and found out assembly is needed. and so I was thinking, what could we use to start it off? I think we'll go for a linux kernel if creating your own custom kernel is hard.. I need a guide or something.. RE: So I was thinking.. - FunKx - 10-10-2011 A guide to create an operating system? That would be a hell of a guide ![]() 40 E-Books xD RE: So I was thinking.. - Jacob - 10-10-2011 it would take a longtime, and you would have to know fluent assembly code. but yes its very hard, take a workforce of programmers, so imo. use a kernel that already exists. RE: So I was thinking.. - H4CK5 - 10-10-2011 Woah, it's really hard, isn't it... didn't imagine it to be like that.. btw., is linux kernel our only option? RE: So I was thinking.. - Jacob - 10-10-2011 im sure you could use windows, or mac os kernels. i give you props for even starting to tackle this amazing obsticle too. |
