So I was thinking.. #1
So, me and my friends decided to make an operating system but we don't know where to start. I know it requires a lot of skill, time and effort and that's fine. I prefer to not have it based from another as much as possible.. I've been reading recently and found out assembly is needed. and so I was thinking, what could we use to start it off? I think we'll go for a linux kernel if creating your own custom kernel is hard.. I need a guide or something..

it would take a longtime, and you would have to know fluent assembly code. but yes its very hard, take a workforce of programmers, so imo. use a kernel that already exists.
