Getting organized - 3SidedSquare - 02-10-2014 I was wondering how many of you actually get yourselves organized before beginning writing a program, I think this is the first time I've tried it (known how to for years, just never bothered) And by being organized, I mean UML diagrams, state diagrams, a sketch of a gui, if applicable ect. Spoiler:![]() RE: Getting organized - Cressi - 02-10-2014 I usually try to make a sample GUI in Photoshop, and a flowchart for functions. RE: Getting organized - Llebacc - 02-10-2014 I do plan out all of my projects in advance. Hacking away only works on small scripts. However, I haven't found any good software to do SysML or SysML-esque planning on my machine so I normally just hand-write everything out that I need to. May I ask what software you're using? Just something I found called ArgoUML free, open source an' all http://argouml.tigris.org/ RE: Getting organized - Llebacc - 02-10-2014 (02-10-2014, 09:00 PM)3SidedSquare Wrote: Just something I found called ArgoUML It's much appreciated. Thank you. RE: Getting organized - w00t - 02-10-2014 I've a set of whiteboards surrounding my workspace RE: Getting organized - Lain - 02-11-2014 I just code without any planning, I generally end up with a shitload of spaghetti code, which I later clean up. RE: Getting organized - mirage - 05-02-2014 I've only done a couple of large programs and even with lots of planning I always seem to end up with redundant bits. |
