Cheating - Brendaddy - 01-23-2021

I created my own calculator to do my math work for me today during a test would that count as cheating or not.

RE: Cheating - miso - 01-23-2021

i mean you have a calculator, it depends if they allow calculators or not

RE: Cheating - Oni - 01-23-2021

Do you mean like an application on TI-84 calculator? We used to add all sorts of applications, but nothing that was blatantly cheating.

In what capacity does It help with your work?

Sounds like incomplete information . what special thing you made ? how you made lifehack.

RE: Cheating - Brendaddy - 01-23-2021

we were supposed to get x and y coordinates and i wrote a program that got those for me and the teacher never said anything about a calculator

Lmaoo, this is legit how I passed my Econmics class in high school.
We were allowed to use ti84 for accounting excercises, and I wrote a whole ass program that did everything for me.
Probably spent way more time making that program then if i'd just had studied but hey
It's not cheating it's called thinking outside the box Smile

Well, calculators aren't usually considered cheating anymore. Even during tests. I would just roll with it. If your teacher/professor says something about it, just tell them a white lie about how you didn't know using a calculator was cheating.

As someone who is apart of the Calculator Modding community, I would say it really depends on what you are doing. If you are using a school approved calculator and there isn't any (stated) restrictions on what you can have on your calculator, then it isn't technically cheating. TI has been real assholes lately when it comes to apps and even removed support for them completely a few months ago. Exam mode is a thing but there have been exploits to bypass it and most teachers don't turn it on anyways. I have skated by math class this year pretty easy using a notes app on my TI-84.

Use this rule of thumb: its only cheating if you get caught

Best way I came up with to cheat in college:

Get one or two of those fat rubber bands, different colors is best if you need more than one, stretch them over a textbook or something, write cheat notes on them with the finest point pen you can get.

Wear them on your wrist for the test. Stretch them out to see your secret notes.

PROFIT.
