Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the approval of the Sputnik-V vaccine during a teleconference meeting with members of his government on August 11, 2020.

Judging by the following statement, It seems like It's a step In the right direction.

I've been reading some mixed reports, both fors and againsts, so hopefully the former outweighs the latter and the vaccine comes Into effect.

I hope they didn't cut too many corners to be able to make it faster than anyone else. They already have interested customers from Latin America, Asia, Middle East. I don't know if I would like to be among the first that take it.

Unfortunately, lockdowns and quarantine measures are keeping the virus under control and nothing more. The moment restrictions are lifted, It's back to square one.

Only a vaccine will put an end to It.
