I told Paypal that there was no option.

It's actually possible for me to go file a police report as of right now, but I'm not sure if the police would provide one for receiving an empty box.

Paypal wouldn't take "no" for an answer and provided me with alternative methods. I am going to go file a police report in person instead. Is it a good idea to be as vague as possible with the report?

If that's the case, forward the police's refusal to provide the report to Walmart.

You're doing the right thing by attempting to file the report, so It's no fault of your own If they cannot provide It.

Paypal reps are being utterly useless and told me to file an IC3 report instead, although I do not even live in the United States. I already went to my local police station and spoke with them about it, and they told me a report could not be filed because no crime or offence had been committed.

Does it help to speak about this matter to Paypal on the phone instead?

EDIT: Turns out IC3 reports do work for my country so I will be doing that instead.

PayPal remain adamant with IC3 reports, so you're doing the right thing by complying with their request.

RE: Walmart EB Investigation - Mertuminiv - 01-08-2023

I finally got an update from PayPal, and it has been decided that I will receive a refund upon shipping back the box to Walmart.

I intend to proceed normally by returning the box to PayPal, but I've read from other posts on here that I can literally send nothing and that Paypal only determines the refund based on shipping status.

Is this actually a viable way of receiving my refund?

I also find it strange that Paypal didn't provide me with a shipping label and just told me to ship it back.

That Is correct.

For the most part, PayPal generates a refund based on tracking confirmation from consignor to consignee.

Yes.

To play It safe, you can box the return.

I went through with the return, and it's already been delivered a few days ago however, I've gotten no notification of getting a refund. Do I have to notify paypal that it's been delivered?

PayPal should be aware of your return, but It won't hurt to contact them and confirm It.
