Prior to Microsoft terminating It's service, It was quite popular over a decade ago.

MSM messenger wasn't that AOL? I've never even heard of it from anyone I knew.

I used to use facebook and chat with friends there, sure, but no longer use facebook or any other social media of said nature.

Im kinda starting all over, Discord seems legit, free, open source, and I dont need to send my face pic to be approved

Discord is not really open source and they log everything you do. Facebook seems like a sinking ship with the captain going over first.

Oh ok, I stand corrected. Thanks. I figured as much, that they would log, but did think they were open source. I presume any means of communication, I didnt create, is not secure. Smile

No, AIM Instant Messenger was AOL.

You've never (nor come across anyone who has) heard of MSN Messenger? My computing dates back many years, In fact decades, hence almost every person I was acquainted with, was using the platform as their main gateway of communication.

I started on the internet when AOL messenger started. I heard of MSN messenger, but that was because I had a microsoft email. Maybe different age groups is what caused us to use different messaging applications.

I use discord, and mumble for some things, only because a friend of mine has a server.

Yes, the age difference certainly plays a major role.

I was also chatting via Telnet back In the mid to late 90s, which was a lot of fun. Very Insecure, though.

No yet.

But that will demonstrate a ballpark figure of my age, so I better not.

Any reason why?

RE: Favorite Chat site/app? - GreenZA - 11-08-2018

TeamSpeak is good for those who like playing games and chatting with each other at the same time. I tried it when I used to play World of Warcraft and I should admit that there is nothing better than TeamSpeak for cooperating with other players. Nowadays the Facebook app is the one I use most. I've read somewhere that Facebook is going to add a feature so the users could delete their messages. I think it will improve this platform.
