Don't listen to @chmod stay away from Fedora. Debian is the way to go! Wink

Well, as I'm a hardcore Debian fan I will always recommend Debian or Debian based distro's. But for us to recommend you what distro to use, is very hard. The only person who can tell which distro to choose, is yourself. And the only way to find out is to try them out. When that's said we can tell you a little about what the different distros have to offer, which might help you to steer away from some of them. I will only talk about Debian and Debian based distros since it's been more than a year since I have even booted Fedora.

Debian: Debian is one of the core Linux distributions and is ond of the oldest too. More than half of all Linux distros are based on Debian and we can thank it for a lot of things. It represents stability! Install Debian and you will have a desktop or laptop which boots every time you start it and it's very unlikely that you will ever experience any bugs. What you won't get though, is a fancy desktop layout. Debian lacks a little behind when it comes to modern UI design. Some like it, some hate it. I personally use Debian on all my servers since I know my way around the Debian terminal and know how to secure the shit out of it. When installing Debian on servers you won't find my difference from the desktop version. When I install a clean copy of Debian I always start with downloading and installing; all my security features and then install PHP, MySQL and Apache. Because of it's stability it's also good for servers.

Chrunchbang: Well well well, isn't it Chrunchbang. Chrunchbang is of course build on Debian and tbh it is one of my favorite distros. With Chrunchbang you will get a light weight, fast and good looking minimalistic distro. It might be a little unstable. I have never experienced this, but some users complain about it.

Ubuntu: Who haven't heard about Ubuntu? Many only think about Ubuntu when "Linux" is mentioned (I'm really sad about this). Ubuntu is actually not that bad though. It's fairly stable, based on Debian and is well supported. What Ubuntu won't teach you, is the more advanced things. Cannonical has done a lot to make it as user friendly as possible and as a a result of that, it won't force you to actually learn about how to configure and manage Linux on your own.

Finally I bought my laptop. After connecting to my wifi the first website that I opened is HC. I have decided to install Kali Linux in another partition and learn to use Arch Linux by setting it up on Virtual Box. After I get to know how the sort of things are done I will boot arch Linux and will use.

Unless Linux was installed in which case Firefox is usually pre-installed
