i have windows 8 running on my computer now one of the biggest mistakes i made. im currently making a bootable pen drive to have it boot right off windows 7 ultimate. i mean windows 8 is fun at first but they really limit what you can do on your computer. for me i cant even boot into BIOS on boot i have to wait to log into my user and go into settings to have it boot BIOS on startup. how stupid is that. well anyway i wish you the best of luck with your windows 8 problem.

the easiest way to boot windows 8 to safe mode is to start windows normally(if you can) once logged in type msconfig then click the boot tab select safe mode then apply, windows will tell you to reboot, do it.
now once you have finished in safe mode you will have to run msconfig again and unselect safe mode, you will be asked to reboot again. if you dont change it back it will continuously boot into safe mode.

I agree.. I'm really not linking the direction that Microsoft is going.. I run a couple of boxes at home one with 8,five machines with 7 and my laptop for trying to learn Linux..

Right now i'm fighting backtrack.. I cant get the damn thing to install I get the boot up the command prompt and type startx then nothing... I really would love to get good at Linux.. I've tried it off and on for years but cant ever get it to stick .. any other suggestions besides backtrack?

Don't like windows 8. I installed it, hated it and went back to windows 7 with great difficulty.
