As much as I'd like to say I know exactly how to box, I've never done it before. I'm unsure exactly how to measure the amount of dry ice I'll need to use. I also don't know what to do about the vapor seeping through the box. I think a post office would find that rather fishy. Any insight from you would be awesome. Ill be sure to keep updating the post as I make advancements. Ill likely wait two days after the box arrives at their facility to ask them about my replacement. I talked my way out of providing a PoP and was never asked to show a cut cord. I've got a RMA request going now and I'm going to attempt boxing them. As opposed to placing It In water, the sublimation (carbon dioxide gas) of dry Ice Is very minimal when It's concealed In the package/box and as the gas Increases In temperature, It disappears at a very quick rate. Hence during transit, the gas Is not evident. Measure the weight of the dry Ice against that of the Item and because It sublimates, allow a little extra weight In the dry Ice Itself. This will accommodate for loss of weight during transit. You know what to do with boxing. My carrier is FedEx and I plan to have the package dropped off at their PO. Do you happen to know if they weigh the packages when they receive it there? This will help me get an idea of about what weight in dry ice I will need. According to an article I read, the keyboard weighs 3.82lb, or 1.72kg. I figure I should buy 4.5lb, or 2.04kg of dry ice an hour or two before I have the boxed dropped off at the PO. Does the weights and time frame sound about right to you? If not how much dry ice do you suggest? Any insight from you would be awesome. I can't speak for every post office, but from personal experience, I've yet to come across one that doesn't weigh It's Items. Cost Is determined by weight or volume (whichever Is the greater), hence the need to weigh packages. Allowing for sublimation of the dry Ice, the weight seems appropriate. I sold the keyboard for $100 on Ebay RE: Razer SE Help + Updates - jstarc - 09-19-2018 Nice one mate, how did you get out of showing PoP if you don't mind me asking? I feel like a few things specific to my circumstances went into getting out of showing a PoP. First and foremost, the product I SE'd is still a newer product. It hasn't been out very long, and every Razer Huntsman Elite is covered by the 2 year warranty given to keyboards. Whether I could provide a PoP or not, both I and the rep knew the keyboard was still covered. To help my situation, I got into a live chat late at night on a Friday. It's typically the end of a work week and employees are tired. They're less likely to be sticklers about protocol, especially when you show them understanding for things like typos, late responses, etcetera. As I edited into the thread, the boxing was successful and I did receive the product. I managed to get the same rep on the phone that I spoke with over live chat, so that was a big help for me but I'm sure you can convince any other rep that the item was lost in transit. As a matter of Interest, what was said on your end to convince and justify It was stolen/lost In transit? |
