I think thats a good choice. Debian in itself for some reason is easier to work with than Ubuntu (I dont know why, I just find that true... LOL) but I always keep Kali Linux on a VM ware somewhere, since I need the Giant package of Hacking tools it offers. I personally have Fedora on one of my laptops. Its virtually the same as Debian though (with some differences in the lower levels of the File System, although if you dont care, like I dont, it wouldnt make a difference), although I understand that some people like the better support Debian has for building custom packages and the repository is far larger than Fedora. RE: Dual Boot Question - DevGeek - 06-11-2015 I have the same question. I have windows 8 with kali linux. Using windows 8 as a primary os. But now I want to remove my kali setup from the bios setting. Can anyone help how to do it? I assume he's referring to the Boot menu. @DevGeek, the BIOS Is shipped by the manufacturer and the OS cannot reside In the Firmware Itself. I want to remove that Debian Linux. Yes, that's the "Boot Menu". It can be removed by editing the BCD (Boot Configuration Data) Store, however It's a detailed process, too much to explain over a post. The simplest way for Linux to not show during the boot process, Is via the "Startup and Recovery" within the Windows environment as follows: Right-click on any blank area on the Desktop > Advanced system settings > Settings (under "Startup and Recovery"), then next to "Time to display list of operating systems", enter "0". Here's what the end result will be: ![]() Hit OK. Upon bootup, the default OS will load without displaying the option for the other Installed OS- Linux being the case with you. |
