RE: Dual Boot Question #2
Are you trying to dual boot simply because "everyone" told you to? Is there something Kali isn't doing for you?

Lol don't just try and dual boot because everyone told you to. Unless you know exactly what you need in Ubuntu for a specific purpose, I wouldn't bother using up the hard drive space as Kali is already great and can do just about everything Ubuntu can do.

Kali has bugs, open unkown ports, alot of blotware that one might never use. Bu Ubuntu comes minimized, hell it isn't even more than 1GB but kali is 3GB+

Oh the roast! The roast is real! What's wrong with Windows Eight though? It's pretty good for me so far. The settings remind me of a smartphone though. It's simple, but not too simple.

Why dont you just get VMWare or Virtual Box and run Kali Linux on that as a Virtual Machine while Ubuntu is the Main OS? It works just as fine, you can run windows (or in your case Ubuntu) in the back, and it would take far less space.... Most people who want Kali Linux run it on a VM anyways. Furthermore, dual booting is only really needed for something like Apple/Windows, not two different Unix based Operating systems.

Ive never seen anybody run Kali Linux as a dual boot, or even as a primary OS. Ive always seen it as a VM on Ubuntu or Windows. Clearly whoever told him to do this has no idea about that.

Exactly, although now that I think a little more about it, I don't see why it would be so bad to run kali as a main OS.

This quote right here is the general answer you will get from me, but also think about this, I'll put it in basic terms:

Ubuntu is based on Debian
Kali Linux is a Debian-derived Linux distribution

I can't stop you from doing what you want with your computer, but you have the opinions of not only some members of SL, but also the opinion from the Linux demi-god @roger_smith

I cant think of any benifits either.....

Well I mean if you really like the gnome interface or you use something THAT often in kali, but you're right, not many benefits and you could just run Debian (I mean I'm running Debian on my desktop, lol).
