Personally I would also recommend the CWM wipe and flash (make sure you back up anything you need first and also wipe the cache, I've forgotten this step a few times before and ended up in a boot loop)
It will require you to root your device and install a custom recovery image onto it but that's not too hard to do and theres a ton of tutorials around the web for a variety of devices just make sure you search the model number found in settings>about device rather than the trade name such as galaxy s2 as different countries use different models so the files used to root and flash the recovery vary slightly.
