I personally think grades re important in high school. I remember when I was in high school, grades were important for me, which I had to maintain good grades because I was an IB student. Plus, having good grades means I'm able to get into the university much easier since most of them required an average GPA of 3.5 or above.

No they are not. If you are actually really smart you should be able to make money on your own.

I make $2k/month online at the age of 15, which isn't horrible for my age.

: ))Grades in high school are very important when it comes to college. If you have failing grades then they put you in a category of not wanting to succeeded or a waste of time. But if you make good grades like you are doing then they see you as a person who wants to achieve and will not waste yours and their time.
I had good grades in high school. My GPA was 3.3 and I was eligible for HOPE. When the college stay this they were really interested in me. Then when I transferred to another college bringing my GPA of 4.0, they were really impress. Good grades mean a whole lot and some people realize it to late. I hear a lot of people say they wish they had done better in high school. Plus, good grades also are impressive when it comes to getting a job as well. But it should not matter if colleges or jobs find good grades impressive, because you should want to do good anyway. This is the mentality I had when I was in elementary, middle, high school, college and in the work field.
My GPA now is a 2.8, because I transferred from a regular college where there is mostly book work and moved to a art college. And realize book work is easier to do then trying to draw a still life in a week. I am an excellent artist, but when you have professors who are at the best of their craft and they expect you to be the best like them, then it can be hard. But again always do good and always try to achieve for better, because it does matter and make a difference. Somebody you are close to may see how good you are doing and decided to follow along at making good grades or doing well all together.

High school is a display of sheer effort and time, rather than intelligence.

At some point, yeah, they're important. They're important if your folks expect you to do well in school. They're important if you want to get into a good college. Once you get to college, though, nobody cares anymore.

I've always been told yes, and so do the statistics.
It all depends on where you wanna be, behind the desk where you'd wanna be, or the working man.
I'll always be the working man, as have all of my family. Education is a lack in my family, and I can't say I've done to well in school. I've had family turn down free rides for drugs, thus shows my families education.

My only dream is for my children to be able to have a good education and be able to do what I wasn't. I want to have enough money saved up for them to have a great life planned out.

Good grades are good but IMO are not enough for success, you can still get scholarships for other stuff.

I would also try to get career related classes so you have an idea of what you like when you go to college, sucks to be unprepared and switch careers after a year Sad
