Planning to make a new acc with new details and order it to another address, pick it up and then use the wrong item received method. Would the weight still be an issue? hmm okay having a hard time finding an item weighing 2.1kg that will fit, closest is 2kg so far, any suggestions? There is a good chance they will notice the difference in weight upon you returning the item, hence it will be easy for them to identify that the items have been swapped Look into the second hand market, if there are any identical items with the same weight, but it would be very hard to do and if they find out they will dispose of your item. With AIO you mean water cooling right? What you could try and say is saying that you hooked it up in your system and it malfunctioned and started smoking(hazardous material), hence you disposed of it in a bucket of sand. But if its still the GPU, with a OTP code its near impossible to do unless you do a FTID or order 2 items in 1 go and do the above with the watercooling RE: Amazon GPU Swap - skim999 - 10-27-2022 (10-27-2022, 09:27 AM)Hardred Wrote:(10-27-2022, 09:23 AM)skim999 Wrote:(10-27-2022, 09:20 AM)Hardred Wrote: I think so yes. If replacing with an AIO would prove unlikely. Trying to buy from Amnz as suggested in the wrong item method, with your suggestion of it smoking, if I was to say it caught fire in my system and had to dispose if it would they buy that? Would the weight still be an issue? It's a 120 gram variance, which Is the maximum weight the missing Item and partial method work with success, so It's no different when using that figure In this case. Though, It's pushing It to Its absolute limit. Thanks for replying, I would like to leave as little room for error as possible. Another poster suggested to claim it was smoking after installation and discarded due to hazardous material, would you recommended that? Or claiming it caught fire in my system when I was away and melted beyond recognition? I have some components I could melt if they ask for pics Sorry for all the questions, its my first time trying to SE something of this value RE: Amazon GPU Swap - Hardred - 10-27-2022 (10-27-2022, 09:37 AM)skim999 Wrote:If you insist on it being a hazard item it should. With AIO you mean water cooling right? Okay, So I have an old PC build, planning to melt some components in it, make up some story about leaving it overnight and my wife managed to catch it. after which the components are fused together and some unrecognisable. The problem Is Amazon will remain adamant to return It, hence It will be an arduous and lengthy process. Even If you claim the carrier won't transport hazardous goods, they'll allocate one that does. Alternatively, the wrong Item received method Is worth considering. Ah okay, even if I claim the PC and its components has been disposed of after the fire due to fear of personal injury and the components were reduced to ashes? I don't mind going back and forth for months as long as it eventually results in a refund. Or even saying I shocked myself when trying to remove the parts so disposed for that reason? The wrong item would be my preferred but finding a 2.1kg item is proving challenging |
