Amazon GPU Swap #1
I've heard Amazon is starting to check returns more thoroughly, but I was wondering if it would be a decent success rate to swap my GTX 1060 from EVGA with a RTX 3080TI also from EVGA, the lisiitng was used "like new" from amazon warehouse and not a 3rd party seller, I was planning to weigh the box when i get it, swap the S/Ns and put the old GPU back in the box and match the wait with foam etc. Then say received the wrong gpu even though the S/N matches the box.

Would this be feasible?

Thanks in advance

Edit: thanks to @pxl_rip for the heads up about warehouse inspections. I've ordered a new straight from amzn. What im thinking now is to weigh the box, and replace the contents and match the weight with the 1060 and some psu cables and say that is what i received. How likely is this to succeed instead?

I think it would be easier with a new one. Based on my memory amazon warehouse's items are carefully checked to see if they are suitable to be resold by amazon so they go through a lenghty process of checking.
Anyway let's wait someone that knows more about this matter.

Ah okay thanks for this, I've just ordered a new one to try with. Getting in touch with Amzn to cancel the warehouse order which is estimated to arrive in over a week anyway

They won't fall for It.

Also, It's Amazon's policy to dispose of Incorrect returns, so say goodbye to your 1060.

Seriously, how can you expect a 3080 to look anything like a 1060? It's at least twice as big, if not more, and way, way heavier

There's no way they'll fall for it

Okay I've found an AIO that's similar size but 1.98kg rather than 2.1kg. Planning to make a new acc with new details and order it to another address, pick it up and then use the wrong item received method. Would the weight still be an issue?

I think so yes. There is a good chance they will notice the difference in weight upon you returning the item, hence it will be easy for them to identify that the items have been swapped
