It's only a 24 hour wait and going by the timestamp of your post explaining the situation, It's now 17 hours (If posted Immediately), so you may as well wait for their reply.

The SE seems like a success as today I received a call from Walmart saying that a refund will be given however, they will be calling me back tomorrow.

Seems like a refund wasn't actually issued. I called back today, and another rep has told me they will escalate this situation again and told me to wait up to another 48 hours.

Should a police report be requested, what should I do? I am currently not in the city in where it was delivered and won't be for quite a while. Online police reports are also not an option in that area.

If he hasn't contacted you within the next 2 days, get In touch and ask where your claim stands.

Got another call last night from a rep asking me to confirm details of the order. However, they hung up on me in the middle of the call. Another rep has already told the investigation team I got hung up on during a follow up call. Was told to wait another 24-48 hours.

Hey this is their game to frustrate you into giving up, but you would never give up and lose your hard earned money. They pay these people to say this and that, then you get a different person who starts the cycle over again. I had them say the same thing , I was getting a refund then they had to keep looking into it. It will co e just be patient and it will happen, stick to what happened.

About the police report tell them exactly what you explained and add you can't wait that long, u have bills to pay. And depending on where you live, you recieved an EB, so that's on them or the shipping company to make that report. You never had the property taken from you because the box was empty. Can't be theft it you never owned/possessed it.

Keep at it, and put some extra pressure on them because you need your refund to survive.

Thanks for the advice. I will continue to remain persistent with pressing Walmart for this SE.

I couldn't have said It better myself.
Just got off a call with the rep and they kept saying I require a police report due to progress with this claim despite me being persistent with reasons why I can't get one and how a police report is not relevant. Is there anything else I can do now? It would not be possible for me to get a police report either as of right now or in the near future.
