It's extremely likely an Investigation will be opened.

Hello, the package came in on the 19th and was just handed to me by a Amazon delivery driver I believe it was. Am I able to put in the claim today (20th) for the dna?

If the package was purely handed to you, It's perfect to DNA It.

The day after the delivery Is fine to contact the company.

So i contacted amazon today and was given a response that i should wait till the 22nd, and contact back on the 23rd for a replacement/refund. BUt this was followed by them saying that they will escalate the issue to the internal team. is this a w or not yet.

Don't worry, a very similar response was given to me recently (Also am Australian, also used DNA) where I was told to wait a few days

One note: The rep may ask you if the photo of the order at your address is your address. (They did it to me)
I said yes to not try and over complicate things. Not sure if that was the best answer so others can probably help with advice just in case they ask you that.

That internal investigation thing is nothing to worry about. They probably won't even refund you or even contact you unless you pursue them. I was told that they were doing some sort of internal investigation and they will contact me in 72 hrs, but they never did.

Contact them after those 3 days saying you still have not received it (this is when I was asked the question about the photo) and if you're met with any resistance, ask them to refer to the conversation with the previous rep which stated a refund/replacement would be issued if you have not received it by said date. Also, make sure that once they issue the refund, that they have ACTUALLY issued the refund and do not get complacent. Use the order details after your chat with the rep and confirm you can visibily see the refund total (should say like -$XXX or something like that), only then has it actually started to process.

That's good to read.

At this stage, they have no evidence to decline your claim. If they did, It would've been done so by now.

They've simply opened an Investigation, which Is perfectly normal under the circumstances of your claim.

That's the nature of Investigations - claims passed from one department to the next.

We shall await updates.
