I also asked myself this, and came to the conclusion that some people are simple minded and don't really think too much at what they are doing. Humans are complex but also simple. They fail a refund and suddenly the company has "shitty customer service" or "that is a shitty company".
While it's normal to be angry if you lose, I think it's quite retarded to call a customer service system "shitty" if they refused the refund. It can be argued that it's not shitty because they saw through your attempt at fraud, lol.
Anyway, at the end of the day it's just a minority of people who are a combination of simple minded and entitled. The majority of guys I read on forums seem to be aware that they are doing some kind of fraud.
