If the site goes down, as with Megaupload In 2012 which was created by the same developer (Kim Dotcom) as Mega, say goodbye to your precious files.

Very true, which is why I only keep things I don't mind losing there. Either way, I don't think Mega is going anywhere anytime soon, because MegaUpload was seized for allowing copyright infringement, which Mega is much more strict about now.

Agree.

Mega has certainly learned their lesson since the takedown of Megaupload. I actually had around 400 GB of files on Megaupload's servers (for my blog), and lost the lot. Luckily, every file was backed up on my external HDD. The arduous task was uploading to another file sharing site and fixing every post on my blog.
