I have A LOT of experience with Amazon so you may ask any questions and I'll answer them the best I can. The answer to most Amazon queries is - It depends on your account status. If your account is flagged in the slightest, most methods will simply fail, no matter what you tell them. I've recently had a £900 iPad Pro refunded within 24 hours because I said I received the wrong item, I was not questioned or asked to return the wrong item, I was given a form to fill out and issued the refund literally 10 minutes after I sent them the form. This is because my account / address was legit and had no previous refunds/returns. I've also had an account flagged and no matter what I did, they wouldn't issue a refund or replacement. As for your 'return similar item' back to them - in your case a identical GPU, if it literally looks the same, you'll most likely get away with it but beware - if they DO realise you've sent the wrong item to them, they CAN and WILL steal your item and offer no refund/replacement for it. I've seen it done many times before in which somebody sends their RAM/CPU/GPU to Amazon and they've received an email back stating the item wasn't the original item and they will discard the item sent to them but want the original item back if they are going to help. It's hardly like you can go to the police and say "I tried to scam them with the wrong item and they've kept it!" after all! Wrong item received is much safer, as long as you can find a very low cost item. If it fails, you've at least only lost $20-30 or so. Be careful which method you choose. This Is where It's Imperative to execute your method effectively, be adamant, and assume an authoritative figure. Perseverance will result In a successful outcome. Kind of curious what way that goes. Is there really any way to tell if your flagged? Like I have a lot of purchases. Account is a year old. I have legit returns of items that I just didn’t need anymore or weren’t useful, but those have always been problem free and I still get refunded as soon as I drop the item off at the post office. I have one wrong item that customer service went and refunded for me but that was 4 months back. I also have a few legit high value purchases recently. Well at any rate the gpu is on the way. Going to go pre buy the other item before it arrives, then as soon as I sign for the gpu I’ll open, swap, double check the weight and equalize with packing, then file a wrong item. Is it item specific weight or shipping weight they go by? Because shipping weight with the currier they use here are rounded up by 1-2lb. Should I be putting a ton of details or anything in the reason box? Do the CS people actually read them? Hopefully this works... If it does I’ll be staying on the straight and narrow for a long time lol. |
