RE: Favorite Chat site/app? - dsknectd - 10-18-2018 i use load of chat based apps discord i use alot whatsapp fb messager and also telegram i use alot RE: Favorite Chat site/app? - arduinomeat - 10-18-2018 I personnally use a lot of applications, most of all because my contacts use different apps. My favourite is Viber. I had also tried an android chat application that didn't store messages on a server, but only send them when both contacts were online, but I think the project got discontinued. I forgot the name of the app, I'll find it and let you know (: RE: Favorite Chat site/app? - WifuSoundboard - 10-18-2018 Signal is all I use. For backup I'd use wikr RE: Favorite Chat site/app? - The High Roller - 10-21-2018 I prefer tinder, thats where all the bitches at. RE: Favorite Chat site/app? - Defeat - 10-21-2018 Got rid of all my social media and I hate texting so in person definitely takes the cake here. Discord is a resource heavy closed source bundle of JS on top of Chromium, but the UI is pretty good and it's used a lot. IRC has limitations, and I prefer Discord's 'Guild':Channel setup rather than IRCs just-channel one (since most people don't want to self-host at least), also the protocol doesn't allow for things like image transfer, so you have stuff like DCC which feels hackish and is an awful experience in comparison to the direct image embedding you get with modern chat services. Riot.im/Matrix and Tox seem kinda neat, but nobody uses them. Hm, you're right about other services. Seems neat, but no one will ever use them. Discord marketed themselves really well and is so simplistic that anyone could use it. I wouldn't call it that, but I guess it depends on the individual RE: Favorite Chat site/app? - mothered - 10-22-2018 (10-21-2018, 11:59 PM)Strait McCool Wrote: Got rid of all my social media and I hate texting so in person definitely takes the cake here. Now this Is what I enjoy reading. I've "never" had a (real) social media account, and never will. Texting Is too frustrating- I need speed and a full-size keyboard Is what I always utilize. I never really understood social media. People don't understand it's not a free product because you are the product that the social media company's sell. Texting really? You ever try a bluetooth keyboard while texting? RE: Favorite Chat site/app? - mothered - 10-22-2018 (10-22-2018, 03:58 AM)Yuji Wrote: Texting really? You ever try a bluetooth keyboard while texting? It's not very practical when going to work and sitting on a train, or hooking It up whilst working and stocking shelves. I only text for work purposes. I don't have the time (nor the Interest) to text at home, so everyone Is aware to make a quick call. I see your point, though. |
