Help me to SE AMD ? - Arito - 10-17-2017 Guys can you help me SE a AMD cause when i viewed on the replacement policy it says need to return the item i have a S/N here i want to SE AMD please state the requirements to SE amd cause i wanna get Proccesors RE: Help me to SE AMD ? - phyrrus9 - 10-17-2017 (10-17-2017, 05:52 PM)Arito Wrote: Guys can you help me SE a AMD cause when i viewed on the replacement policy it says need to return the item i have a S/N here i want to SE AMD please state the requirements to SE amd cause i wanna get Proccesors What part of this is social engineering? This is literally just theft. Why does everybody think that getting free shit by exploiting techs and getting them fired is social engineering? Maybe @Slacker wants to weigh in on this one. Social engineering with AMD would be something closer to convincing them you're a new hw engineer and you don't have access to the models for their Epyc chips and you need them to get you a new account. Then actually getting them to do it so that you have access to the die prints. Or, in the name of getting free shit, convince them you're a new employee who handles returns and you're not able to send this item to the customer because of some perm issue. either get them to do it for you, or do real engineering and get access to do it yourself. Social engineering is so much more and the suggestions you have mentioned are actually kinda cool. I'm still skilled with the old "warranty exploitation" concept but it is definitely by no means the scope of social engineering. Those things are arts and take skill. This shit is terrible, and if it were up to me, I'd make it against the rules to even talk about it. These sections get flooded with this crap and it hurts members who actually want to learn about social engineering. That's why I give examples on how to turn these deplorable thieves into mild social engineers. RE: Help me to SE AMD ? - Slacker - 10-18-2017 I've said it time and time again this isn't social engineering and have left examples of social engineering. I don't mind helping others learn but I'm not going to straight teach you to steal. I've offered a service to do it but not doing it for free and not doing it and calling it social engineering... But everyone's got to start somewhere and if they want to call it that then so be it. We have offered a suggestion and it is still under consideration (I think lol) hoping it comes through cause it would be amazing to teach people legitimate social engineering through first hand experience. This Is further to my countless posts stating the fact of "human manipulation" when SEing, of which I generated one post as recent as an hour ago. The best we can do is explain that this is theft, not SE, and then give examples of how to use SE to accomplish the task. Social engineering (In general terms), Is all about manipulating the person on the other end to disclose Information that they're not supposed to, mostly confidential Information. Not obtaining Items by way of deceit In a fraudulent manner. I agree with that, except I wouldn't put strictly as disclosure of information. @Slacker here got a company to set him up with his own user account with them, that one was good. Agree, hence my comment of "In general terms" leaving some variation as to how social engineering can be utilized. |
