is this a good strategy for DNA, any holes that could get me jammed? #1
im in an apartment building and my street name got changed recently, so i thought to just send it here using the old street name (mail/packages still come here either way) and use a random name that doesnt live here so theyll most likely just leave it in the lobby since the manager is rarely in her office. and also making sure not to put an apaartment number on it in case they decide to go to a specific apartment.

the one time i tried this the driver signed himself (or someone) and it was left it in the lobby, which is fine but its a little awkward to make a claim for someone who doesnt exist. i just ended up making one through paypal that i didnt receive it. is this a decent strategy? i think the only thing i would change is to just my put my name on it, especially for anything signature based

How will you justify (to the company) that the consignment you're waiting to arrive belongs to you?

So whose credentials will the claim be based on?

well by telling the company my friend didnt receive the gift i ordered. and the claim will be based on my credentials since i paid for it

in practice, that would be the only thing i would change for future orders. especially what ive learned about signatures, i would just use my name for the order instead

^ I wasn't aware of this - I thought every detail/credential Is fictitious.

^ Under the circumstances, the DNA Is definitely good to go.

nah the payment credentials atleast has to be legit, only way it could be all ficticious is if i use a prepaid credit card. b

yeah i think whats happening is the building maanger is signing for it and then just leaving it in the lobby. only thing that could b bad is if the fedex driver decides to talk to the building manager in the future and ask whos taking certain packages from the lobby etc but i doubt they care that much. i also learned that a claim through the shipping company would first refund payment to the company and then to me, which is good for this process

^ This will complicate matters.

If an Investigation Is opened, which Is very likely when using the DNA, receipt of goods will be confirmed through the building manager accepting the package.

The company/store operates In the same manner.

They'll open an Investigation with the carrier, who then opens their very own Investigation. If the carrier accepts responsibility for the lost shipment, they forward payment to the company and they'll use the funds to process your refund.

well thats what i think is going on, i havent seen the actual signature yet to know if the driver is signing on his own or not. i do know the manager is usually out of the office or unavailable.

ok so for future reference i should atleast try to sign it myself instead of leaving it to the manager to do so

Correct.

Unless others are willing to support you with the SE, always tackle It on your own.

it just occured to me this would be a case for "did not authorize" since it has another name on the packageb

Given the building manager Is signing the delivery, you can't hit the DNA, so this ^ may be the next course of action.
