Hey all,

Looking for updated method of getting a new iPhone, probably 14 pro or pro max. My current phone just fell out of my pocket getting in the car and my friend drove over it and smashed it.

Any  recommendations or feedback for methods/sites that are still working in Canada would be much appreciated. Looking to use in country as well. Purely a play to replace my broken phone.

I’ve only ever done small DNA’s before, nothing in the price realm of a new phone. Never SE’d Apple before either.

Which store could you SE? Is Amazon an option for you? WIR is working quite well if performed correctly

For sure, amazon.ca is definitely an option, I've never performed SE there so it would be a fresh account. I will definitely do some digging on WIR, vaguely read about it but nothing in depth. I'll do some poking around the forum and hit back with any questions/concerns. Thanks very much for the input!

I think item value also must be considerd , such bulky valubale items may be carfully packed/checked before sending it even if it was by amazon thus those type of errors are unlikely to even take place .

I might have to pivot from Amazon, turns out the iphones 14's are sold by 3rd party sellers and not amazon directly. Do you guys have any experience with this? Does this make the SE much more difficult because the merchant is a much smaller company?

In the event that I have to pivot, do you guys have any recommendations? There's Bestbuy.ca (reluctant to hit this since I just successfully DNA'd airpods from them), there's also Costco.ca which I have no experience with, or directly from apple but if im trying to use the phone in CA I wouldnt want it bricked.

I would also be open to purchasing in person with bestbuy.ca and doing sealed box method for the return. Would just need insight on the right seals and dummy replacement.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!!

I might pursue the SE with bestbuy and purchase in-person with cash and return using sealed box. I’d even go as far as putting a dummy device in there as well.

Do you have experience with the seals and packaging? Any insight? Once I gather any materials suggested I’d pursue the SE and give updates.

Take this with a grain of salt, I’ve never tried it but maybe try purchasing a fake iPhone. These sellers have gotten scary good at producing a very convincing replica, though downside would be dropping a few hundred. If it works though i imagine you can basically purchase a brand new iPhone for half price that way.
