(Time for a big 'ol introduction post, if you don't want to read this all there is a TL;DR at the end.)

'ello

I'm BurritoBeans, just a fairly young dude who likes lots of stuff.

So, I guess... As stated, I'm fairly young - 15 at the moment of posting - but I still like to do a good bit. I'm into many things, but I have three big hobbies.

1: Music
I'm a music junkie, I've been playing instruments since I was in 3rd grade and I've been listening to the stuff for ever. For the playing side, I started off with a Yamaha Bb Clarinet, no idea what model or anything, but I played that for a good few years for school band class and just for fun. Nowadays for school I play the Bb Bass Clarinet - I love the thing, but it falls apart so often that I've taken up learning how to do instrument repair so I don't need to keep paying someone for it. I've been learning Oboe, which is fun but frustrating. On the less concert band oriented side, I like to make random sound so I got into Synthesizers. Currently I have a Korg Kaossilator Pro, an Access Virus B rack synth, a Waldorf desktop Blofeld, and I'm saving money from console repair and mod jobs for a Korg MS-20M. I'm also learning guitar, which is a pain but is still a lot of fun.

2: Gaming
So yeah, I like my video games a good bit. I grew up on a Panasonic 3DO which I still own, and let me say, that is one fun system even with the crappy games on it. I used to exclusively play console, but I branched out into PC in 2007 when Team Fortress 2 came out. As of 2009, I also got into "retro" gaming. I have everything from random old Pong clones to a nice new PS4, and I have PCs from a '72 IBM 5100 to the nice new PC that I've built. When it comes to retro gaming, one big question people ask is "CIB/Sealed or Loose copies" and I have to say that while I like boxes and all that, I'd take a loose copy first that's just clean or cleanable as I'd much rather play the game than have some shrinkwrapped thing on the wall that never gets used, but I will buy said shrinkwrapped thing if I have a loose copy laying around. Also, another fairly useless point but I'll throw it out there, I like my digital downloads as much as I like my physical copies as I figure they'll last just as long/longer - I still buy game CDs and carts today but if I'm fairly interested and the game is in something like a Steam Sale or Humble Bundle, I'll pick it up.

3: Movies
Finally, my last big thing. I love movies - I make random ones with friends in spare time, I watch tons of movies in spare time, and I always like to collect them. I've seen everything from random kids movies like Dumbo to random extreme movies like Human Centipede, and I love most-all movies as long as they're not just glorified torture porn or have a really stupid plot. I collect lots of formats, too - VHS tapes, CEDs, Laserdisc, DVDs, HD-DVDs, Blu-Ray, and film reels.

To go with the japan theme I see throughout here... well, I don't watch much Anime, just when a friend wants to watch some or something, but I have some funny Japanese computers and games systems. I absolutely love my NEC PC-8001/-8801/-9801 computers and my Sharp X1 Twin and X68000s, and while they can be expensive as I import most stuff (Dang you expensive shipping and customs fees) I still love them. I think the only times I'm not happy with them is when I buy some big 'ol lot of games, and then it turns out to be half H-Games that I don't even want which has been my issue with the PC-9801 for a good bit of time now.

So yeah, that's a bit of me. I'd say I'm "just another dude", but eh, that's me. I hope I have a good time on the forums here, they look fairly interesting. (Thanks to Skullmeat for showing me the place via a link in AtariAge)

TL;DR - I'm BurritoBeans, a dude who likes lots of stuff, and I'm fairly interested in exploring and being at least semi-active here.

That's all,
BurritoBeans

Welcome! If you're into gaming, you should check out the threads on games. We may do some gaming as a forum in the near future.

Hey, thanks for the welcome everyone, and thanks again to Skullmeat for linking me to the place. Usually I don't get on many forum boards, AtariAge is usually enough for me, but I don't mind expanding out every now and then.
