do companies know which serial number device you recieved? #1
Lets say I ordered a monitor from Dell, and the same one from best buy,.

I need to return the one from Dell, but can I switch the best buy monitor into the Dell box without them knowing? (same monitor, package)

so does Dell know which serial number would be right, or service tags or whatever, any identifiable information?

(The best buy monitor has a blemish on it, thats why i wanted to switch.

Thanks

For warranty purposes, they need to Identify their Items In some way, thus the serial numbers/service tags are recorded In their Inventory with every Item that's dispatched.

If you're In luck, they may not check the serial on the returned (wrong) monitor.

Especially around this time, it might be your best bet to pull it off.

Generally with our forum, I figured this went without saying. However, recent discussion has led me to believe otherwise. People are encouraged to read and follow our rules, especially those regarding illegal content. You have been warned - @Oni

Absolutely.

The busiest time of year Is the festive season, particularly a couple of days before Christmas. Last minute shoppers keep retailers extremely busy, leaving little time to focus on claims/returns.
