PayPal is always a good choice because a claim, used as your last resource where everything else has failed, may grant you the money back. About the SE itself, assuming the ring will only weight few grams it gives you a good start for a EB, obviously this would work if the item you’re getting cannot be seen from the outside of the box that is packed in.

I have heard of some people succeeding for rings and other stuff like this, but I don’t remember precisely if was dior or another company; just have a look around, and try to do some research on how dior handles this kind of claims
