If It's not a software download, Apple subscription or a developer product (which It obviously Isn't), you'd be eligible for a refund as per

Even though you DNA'd It and received a replacement, It doesn't change the fact that you've paid for the Item. Apple believes that you only have the replacement In your possession, so It's no different to a direct purchase and claiming a refund thereafter.

its a macbook. store wouldnt take it because the serial # doesnt match. should i return online
