apple store wont refund my replacement

I did a DNA on apple and got a replacement. I tried to go into apple store to return it but they wouldnt let me due to the amount is $0. The replacement is the same order number as the original one, but they said they need to original serial number item to process refund.

should i return it online instead? has this happen to anyone? im afraid if i return online and they will just process $0 for me also. I cant bring the original item since its supposed to be "not delivered" lol.

What's the Item In question?

If It's not a software download, Apple subscription or a developer product (which It obviously Isn't), you'd be eligible for a refund as per Apple's policy.

Even though you DNA'd It and received a replacement, It doesn't change the fact that you've paid for the Item. Apple believes that you only have the replacement In your possession, so It's no different to a direct purchase and claiming a refund thereafter.

its a macbook. store wouldnt take it because the serial # doesnt match. should i return online

Doesn't match with what?

You only have the replacement (and Apple Is obviously well aware of It), hence you're purely claiming a refund on that.

There's no reason for them to not refund you. From the standpoint of a legit customer, there's no way you would have the SN of the original.
Try reasoning with them, and escalate to a manager if they don't budge.

You need to explain to them it's a replacement item as the original item did not arrive. This same bs happens with Amazon and I share your frustration. Contact them online.

Moreover, the original Item Is not part of the assessment - the OP (seemingly) didn't receive It, hence a replacement was dispatched and that's the Item In question.

I cannot fathom why Apple fails to comprehend and calculate such a simple equation.

Hey, I have a couple questions about your SE. What country are you in? How much was the item you SEd apple to send you a replacement? Did they ask you for a police report? Did a UPS/Fedex agent show up to your house asking you any questions?
