amazon police report #1
hi all,

appreaciate this is a failed SE, but Amazon seem to be proving that airpods, despite their minimal weight are actually in the box. I'd highly advise from now on to suggest wrong product and return something cheap and of same weight.

Amazon have got me by the balls atm, said their investigation concluded item was in box and was told by first CS rep to sign affadavit, i did this as standard procedure.

Upon this, they're now asking for a police report - If I file this and it shoots myself in the foot im baisically fucked as ive signed the legal document

but hey ho live and you learn

AirPods will barely register a weight on consignment (If any), so on what grounds did they conclude that the Item was In the package?

I have just done an item which barely registers some weights (under 30g) and they asked me to fill a police report.
Just to let you know, legit account, good history orders, with all expensive items, first Refund on that account and they asked my straight forward a police report.
I think it depends on the country where you SE and the company you SE. No general rules at all.

I certainly agree that there are no hard and fast rules when requesting a PR, but It must be justified.

In your case, a crime wasn't committed (goods were not stolen In transit), so they have no grounds to request a police report.

They are none. But if I don't give it to them they won't refund me, and PayPal asked the same. I tried to give them the same excuse used for succeeded in this SE but it didn't work. I think that SE/Refund in EU is much "difficult" than in the US.

Ah and by the way the price of the item this time was 199,99€.... Not 1k or more...
I think I won't give them a police report, I don't want to throw away an occasion to sign a police report for 199€.

I fully agree.

My previous post Is based on a request for a PR where It's not warranted.

I understand your position.

You can always file a police report at another station/location the next time around.
