Windows 8 vs. Linux Ubuntu

Now, I need opinions...
For the record:
I already have a windows 8 install disk (yes, i bought it...) After using it for the last nine months, I have come to the conclusion that it's just not pleasant as a desktop interface, as I use it.
The problem is, that I am a gamer, so I need my games... The thing is that some of my favourites (planetside 2, A.V.A) are not available for linux, I could try running wine, but with planetside 2 being as resource consuming as it is, I think t would barely work from wine... Plus I don't feel like wasting a good Win8 Distribution...
So what to do..?

I'd say Windows 8 is better simply because ubuntu can become slow as hell because it's bloated as fuck and because Unity.
But we all know that Windows 7 is the god and master of every OS ever.

I'd go with Ubuntu any time, but if it was up against Windows 7, I'd be in doubt.

I use Windows 8 and have no problems with it. Never tried Linux though.

Yeah, I'm fine with it, but I think desktop centered OSes are significantly better Smile

Plus I have a bug that makes it impossible to buy anything from the Windows store, which is pissing the hell out of me -.-

Actually, I do have a problem too. None of the W8 apps open. Say I open "photos", it will start to open and immediately close. But I kind of put that on myself.

Have you tried to install apps from the store??
Cause that gives me an error Biggrin

No, I haven't. I don't even use the apps anymore since they never worked. Never found use in them anyway when I just use an alternative.

True, most of them are designed for touch, and are quite annoying to use with a keyboard & mouse... Sad
