Hey guys I've been playing around with my new PC but I haven't been able to figure out how to boot into Linux on
other part ions on my hard drive, windows 7 methods don't work I've already tried. Anyone have any suggestions?

This is what I did to access Windows XP and Linux from two different partitions, thought I had installed Linux already and when I installed XP it overwrites the MBR which makes Windows XP to boot from only. Here's when a bootable Linux USB come's in handy. Just boot Linux from your USB and install Boot Repair (Doesn't matter if persistence is enabled or not ). Just run the boot repair utility and let it do it's work. It will takes some time figuring out other OS's on the system, and will repair the MBR. So after doing that instead of booting directly into XP I get a Grub menu which asks me whether to boot into XP or My Linux

You can do this with Windows 8 too. Just install Linux in another partition and run Boot Repair

Yeah that's the best method imo I've used it myself with success, you can download an iso of Ubuntu with the necessary tools pre installed I've got a copy burnt to a disk just in case mine gets messed up

Also keep in mind when installing any Linux distribution to a computer with Windows, Windows must already be present on the system to avoid the above scenario.
Installing a Linux distribution, then installing Windows *afterwards* will always overwrite the MBR, which is why Windows must always be installed first, followed by one's chosen Linux distribution.

Additionally, I noted where the Author stated "trying the Window's 7 method" which means the Author is using Window's 8 on what may be a new computer.
If that is the case, then Window's 8's Secure Boot feature may be the sole culprit preventing the booting of Linux. And since you appear to have this well in hand already, I'll digress to you on the matter as is proper recourse.

I portioned and installed Linux but i cant get into boot menu....
