It depends on what you're looking for. Intel have good ones and so do AMD.
Like intel with their i7 and AMD with their FX black edition.
AMD's specs are more impressive but intel are more reliable and faster in general.

Your currently processor would rip apart most AMD Processors (with the exception of a few).
If you wanted an upgrade that would be worth it go for a 3930k, you can't go for a haswell unless you want to change your mobo.
Your current processor is powerful enough IMHO, it wouldn't even really bottleneck a Titan.

I believe this was already said by many in this topic but Intel is practically always more advanced and better than AMD because it is more widely used...Since it gets more attention I believe the support for it is far better than with AMD.
