They don't, it's just the mosquitos decide not to go there, maybe because of temperature etc. But the human controlled aspect of that is that we use quite a lot of mosquito killers.

I think we should go with Bill Gates' idea and breed special non-blood-sucking mosquitoes with frikkin' laser beams attached to their heads targeting all the infection-bearing mosquitoes.

When I was around 12, I woke up with my face soaking wet and felt like I was drowning. I felt my pillow and found it was absolutely drenched to the point where there was a pool of what I assumed was drool or something, so I went to the bathroom to clean up and get a new pillowcase. When I cut on the light, I nearly peed myself as I saw my half blood covered face staring back at me in the mirror. Turns out I'd had a huge nose bleed in my sleep.
