What language(s) are you learning? #1
I make it a point to pick up and get at least ok with something new every couple of months. Right now I'm learning Rust and plan on doing something fairly big (stay tuned) and I'm thinking of picking up either something ancient (like an early derivative of the A-0 System or ALGOL 60), or finally learning what I don't yet know about regex and tying that into sed and awk.

What have you guys got on your programming plates? Anything esoteric, weird, or otherwise interesting and noteworthy?

Learning Rust as well, Node, and Scala. Getting familiar with the sections of a windows Executable so that i can inject code into them for funzies.

I'm just seeing where the wind takes me and going there

I tried learning Scala around 6 months ago, wasn't big on it. Generally not a huge fan of anything that runs in a JVM. Node is great, though; definitely read up on NPM and Bower when you have some time.

I'm so sorry. I tried learning it for a few days, and grammar, conventions, and idioms are so fucking much to remember. Even ghc is overly complicated.

I agree. That's why I said 'slowly'

Hahah. I've been 'slowly' learning haskell too. Part of the reason i'm learning Scala is that is has some functional elements but isn't overbearing like Haskell is. So i'm hoping to establish some basis in functional Scala before moving on to Haskell

I just recently picked up Go (about 6 months ago) and it has completely replaced all other languages in my tool-belt (even to write client-side code with gopherjs). I can't even look at Java anymore without cringing at how verbose it is.

Currently working on Scala and PHP. Although Scala is kinda odd to work with (and interpreted languages confuse me for some reason), but it is pretty interesting to work with, gotten further on it than any others. Might take a look at C++ or NASM next.
