ok i hear everyone linux this and linux that so can someone tell me what it can do that is so special and i know there are alot of versions of it but what is the difrence in them do they have some sort of magic hacking system lol or is it hard as hell to learn and so on please fill me in on all and anyinfo on linux

People say Linux this Linux that mainly because of BackTrack 5. Its a Linux distro (based on Ubuntu which is based on Debian... you got to love this ) that is specially modified for penetration testing and exploiting.

did not understand...... (based on Ubuntu which is based on Debian... lol saaaayyyyyyy what? so ubunta is linux? im so confused with it all and backtrack im guessing is like hack wifi or ip addreses or is it like ip of a websit and hack it lol? is it hard to learn to use linux?

Ok, if your not familiar with Linux don't care about what is based on what =)
BackTrack is linux distribution, like Windows 7 or Windows XP is windows distribution.

And basically you can do anything with it.
You can hack a WiFi network, then set-up a fake/phishing site, use ARP poisoning to redirect everybody on the WiFi to your fake site and steal their passes.

OR

You can hack a whole computer by just an IP

Really anything =)

Linux is free!!! Even better, its opensource!
BackTrack might be as easy as you want or as complicated as you want, depends what you want to do with it.

You need to get used to linux tho
