Not really experience with theft. Most people here start with companies like Amazon. I think it's the key finding a good company. Don't go too expensive, bigger companies usually work until a certain amount of time when everyone is doing the same company. Eventually the companies notice and it'd be harder to SE.
If you want to practice social engineering (more the manipulating of people to get what you want), I'd highly recommend the Social Manipulation ebooks I shared. For the rest, you can also go with companies that are pretty unknown to general public, since they probably haven't been "social engineered" that much and probably will suspect less.
Most do through Amazon, because there are also various Amazon receipt generators around.

As with every SE, bear In mind you're more so exploiting the human firewall.
Prepare your method by researching the company's terms, formulate It accordingly, Identify the weakness In the representative and execute your SE thereafter.

I think easiest way to train your SE skill with refund is clothing. Asos or abercrombie, for example. For first time you can try order 2 items, 1 cheap and 1 expensive. And tell them that in your box there are only cheap item.
