Did some research into AV internals recently. I'd advise you to not use AVG, Avast, or Bitdefender. They use unreliable methods for their real-time monitoring detection systems which can be bypassed incredibly easily. Though this usually only applies to hackers with sufficient technical abilities, the information on how to bypass is publicly available.
As for Malwarebytes, I am currently investigating its internals and may keep you guys posted on what I find.
This is technical advice, so things about spamming your computer with random notifications and other nonsense I've no idea about. Kaspersky is rumored to be collaborating with Russian officials but I cannot confirm anything. I'll remind people again AV is not a complete solution that will protect you from everything. Good web browsing practice and being smart is the best way to stop infections.
