RE: What anti-virus program do you use? #101
There are countless options out there. I used to be an Avast fangirl but I stopped using it ever since their last update. It is now more sluggish and slow than ever before. I find Avira better than Avast and studies show it too. Bitdefender seems to be doing a great job in the independent tests lately.

I recently changed from Avast to Bitdefender and I'm very happy with the results.

Although I'm more partial to Avast, Avira certainly has a better detection rate.

It can also be quite an arduous task to bypass when FUDing files. I've had huge Issues when creating FUD stubs for crypters- Avira was the main culprit In detection.

I use Windows Defender a lot, I'm guessing you are asking for Windows, as it's become quite solid and free.

On top of that, I use my brains, the main AV or if you wanna call it smart ass security device.

Malwarebytes Premium the only that doesn't fk your cpu and you can easily disable or exit. But honestly you probably can live without one at all. Want to test something use vmware and sandbox

MBAM Is not an AV.

In simple terms, the difference between an AV and Malwarebytes Is that MBAM detects a broad range of viruses and does not focus on specifics, hence can miss a lot of what an AV will detect.

An Antivirus does the opposite- targets specific viruses.

MBAM Is not an AV.

But, "It protects you from threats that traditional antivirus isn't smart enough to stop".

In support of my above statement, "threats" Is a broad range of malicious content and not specific to viruses.
