Do note (as you're most likely aware), MBAM Is not an AV.

Until a few years ago, I was much the same with Norton. I remember back In the days of using the bloated Norton SystemWorks which, by memory, I believe was around 2003. Nowadays, on my malware lab, VMs and test physical machines, I don't use any for obvious reasons. For day-to-day navigation, Avast serves me well.

Yes, Malwarebytes is not an antivirus, but I think that it is better than having no protection at all. I am still considering purchasing another antivirus. If Avast is as good as you say it is, I might go down that route, as well.  Smile

I agree with Malwarebytes. It can also run alongside any AV with no compatibility Issues.

Should you opt for Avast, I'm sure you'll be very happy with It.

I am actually just going to purchase Avast online right now. I think that it's time I got a new antivirus.

If so, there is a forums thread about free activation-key.

However, some features (such as the VPN) that require a legit license to authenticate, do not function.

MBAM covers a range of viruses, malware (obviously), trojans, spyware, worms and so forth and does It to the best of It's capacity.

Because of this, It's not classed as an AV per se, hence may miss (viruses) what an Antivirus will detect. For this reason, It can run alongside any AV and should be used as such by all users.

I haven't tested It as of late, so how does It Impact (If any) on system resources?

I remember many years ago, It was quite resource-hungry.

Install GData or QuickHeal
For Maximium protection you can install both together and turn off some functions for better performance.
