Watch SE #1
Hi,

So I was thinking of SE'ing a watch - nothing too expensive, maybe £500 from Omega.

I am thinking of saying something like it was an engagement present and I was on a honeymoon cruise and the strap snapped and it fell over the side.

Would this work? Has anyone successfully done a watch with no investment?

Honeymoon relates to newlyweds, not engaged couples.

You'd want to get every part of your SE accurate.

Besides that problem in your story mothered already mentioned, are you trying to SE it from Omega directly or from another company that's selling their products if I may ask?

I know this, but if the watch snaps straight away it might be a bit dodgy.

Probably just gonna go direct from Omega

If you had a receipt, I could see it working. Otherwise I'm not so sure. If your receipt is from another business, then they'll likely tell you to take it up with that store. Look into different store's replacement/refund/warranty policy and see if you might be able to exploit it.

Does Omega have 500 euro watches then?

Defective Items are not uncommon.

The actual "buckle/clasp" (and not the strap Itself), has been known to simply fall apart due to poor workmanship.
