Wanting to SE Computer Parts #1
Hi,

Pretty new to SEing however I am about to build a new computer and wanted to SE some of the parts. I was wondering what stores would be good (and good methods for them) and which ones I should try to avoid. I understand that Amazon is a given and I plan to SE Currys in store by taking advantage of the fact I used to work for them.

I will of course make some purchases myself inbetween SEs purchases.

Also as a side note are there any UK sites where it is possible to SE a 30 Series GPU or is this something that I would just have to take a hit on?

Thanks!

A good way to get some extra cash to spend on amazon is to buy cheap items and return it. They will refund you money, and let you keep the item. So, if you find a cheap computer part, put in a refund, wait for their response. If they let you keep the money and item, you can now use whatever money you have towards more expensive computer parts.
This isn’t necessarily a SE method, but just a great way to Feuk with amazon

^ This.

If It Is the case, SE'ers would abuse It to the max.

Quick update: Going to get a CPU from currys in the next few days, would sealed box be the best method to return this?

Edit: Just seen that they also now have GPUs in stock what would the best method for these be DNA?

DNA, wrong item, sealed box. All of them can work, it depends on the exact circumstances

Can the CPU be viewed externally without opening the box?

Not as far as I am aware which is why I thought sealed box would be good but will do some research on it.

If the box Is fully covered In cardboard and Is packaged with a factory seal, you're good to go with the sealed box method.

Ok so quick update, completed an SE with currys using sealed box on the CPU.

Now this is where the fun starts as I am now going to try a GPU through amazon. Thinking of saying that it caught fire when it was first turned on and I disposed of it due to it being a fire hazard

Not sure if that is the best method anyone else has something better I am happy to hear it.
