Using successfully SE Apple iPhone #1
Hello,

I have successfully SE a $2300 AUD iPhone with money in account.
Now I want to use it. I am no longer in the country it was purchased in. How safe is it to use it including sign up for things like Face ID? Apple ID (under different name?) etc

@mothered

For the record I am now in China, the iPhone's sold here are a bit different so I don't want to buy a new one. I could go to HK to buy one but it's a lot of effort. I checked the IMEI for the country it was purchased in and it is not (yet) blocked.

I used EB method with 3 hour courier delivery, one phone call reported it, waited two days and ignored two calls from the delivery company (similar to Uber delivery), and they sent a refund email.

I’ve SE’d an iPhone from Amazon, it was a while ago though. I used it almost immediately. It was never blocked and I had a replacement issued from apple when it had an issue.

Amazon may handle it differently to Apple. Did you use account in your name, etc

Yes, it’s my understanding that apple don’t brick their devices on an individual level. I know that the CAN do it, but it’s more trouble than it’s worth. You’ll find out pretty quickly if they have bricked it, message pops up on the screen.
